The United States Composting Council (USCC) has announced that it is seeking conference presenters with recent research and case studies on organic residuals or the use of compost. Accepted presentation ideas will be presented at the 23nd Annual USCC Conference and Trade Show, Jan. 20-23, 2015 in Austin, Texas. The USSC has announced a due date for suggested presentations of June 15, 2014.

The USCC bills its annual conference as “the premiere professional meeting for composting, organics recycling and related topics.” The USCC says the conference typically attracts more than 1,000 attendees.

The conference program follows four tracks, according to USCC:
  • diverting and collecting organics;
  • processing and site issues;
  • uses and markets; and
  • programming, policy and education.

The USCC says abstracts will be accepted for full 90-minute sessions and the abstracts must identify the individual speakers and panelists and topics to be covered.

Those submitting individual presentations can expect to have 20 minutes for their presentation plus a few minutes to receive questions if time allows, says the USCC. Case studies and research reports are welcome. “Case studies may not simply espouse the benefits of a single product or service but must make a more general point (i.e., no ‘infomercials’),” adds the council.

Those interested in submitting an abstract can go to http://compostingcouncil.org/submit-abstracts/.
