Company officially opens Wooster, Ohio, facility.
Quasar Energy Group, based in Cleveland, along with the city of Wooster, Ohio, and Forest City Enterprises held the official grand opening of the retrofit of anaerobic digesters (AD) at the city's of Wooster’s Water Pollution Control Plant July 15, 2014.
The project transforms the traditional wastewater treatment plant into a water resource recovery facility that is able to recycling energy and nutrients while reducing operating costs and expanding capacity, Quasar says.
Ohio State Sen. Frank LaRose, who spoke at the grand opening, said, “Quasar Energy’s innovative technology gives the city of Wooster a remarkable opportunity to reduce costs and expand capacity while recycling energy at the same time.
“The city’s water pollution plant is now better able use wastewater as a rich natural resource that can provide energy to itself and businesses in the area. I’m proud to see the strong partnership between Quasar and the city result in both real savings and efficient use of resources for our community,” LaRose added.
Quasar designs, builds, owns and operates anaerobic digestion systems. The company has 13 operational anaerobic digestion facilities throughout the United States with several more under construction or in the planning stage.
