CP Manufacturing’s story began in 1954 in the scrap metal industry. Charles M. Davis founded CP’s parent company, IMS Recycling. In the early 1970’s, C. Davis invented the first aluminum can flattener- the CP100 for use on his own yard. To answer the demand for the CP100, CP Manufacturing was incorporated in 1977. Aluminum can crushing was the beginning of CP’s story.

Today, CP is still family owned and operated. C. Davis’ son, Robert Davis, president and CEO, expanded the company from standard products to a full line of separation equipment for single stream recycling, MSW, C&D and C&I lines. CP has custom designed and installed over 400 MRFs worldwide as well as over 10,000 individual pieces of UBC processing equipment.

Recently, CP has joined forces with 3 other leading companies in the industry, making The CP Group. The CP Group is comprised of CP Manufacturing, CP Europe (CPME), IPS Balers, MSS (optics), and Krause Manufacturing (MSW) - producing a single resource for all MSW and recycling separation needs. The CP Group has 76 innovative patents and 725 experienced employees worldwide that keep their focus on customer needs and the evolution of resource recovery.
