Joey Neuhoff says he plans to bring Covanta’s insight into handling solid waste to Canadian waste management association.
The Ontario Waste Management Association (OWMA) has named Joey Neuhoff, vice president of business development for Covanta Energy Corp., Morristown, N.J., to its board of directors. He was elected to a two-year term during the OWMA’s annual general meeting.
The association represents private sector companies, municipalities and individuals involved in the waste management industry in Ontario.
"Covanta has considerable experience in waste management, and more specifically, in the development and operation of energy-from-waste facilities, (EfW)" says Neuhoff. "Through this appointment, I hope to offer our expertise and contemporary thinking on waste disposal and resource recovery, while working alongside and on behalf of this esteemed group of waste service providers and influencers for the ultimate benefit of Ontarians."
"OWMA supports an integrated waste management solution that includes landfills, transfer stations, organics processing, material recovery and EfW facilities. Our members are always looking to advance the ways we serve our communities, and EfW is a component of an integrated waste management system with the potential to contribute to Ontario's long-term self-sufficiency in waste management," says Robert Cook, OWMA’s CEO. "By electing Joey Neuhoff of Covanta to our board of directors, OWMA members are strengthening our organization's commitment to a better environment, a safer workplace, exemplary service delivery and innovative solutions to waste management challenges."
