1. Caterpillar MH3022 and MH3024 material handlers. New from Caterpillar, Peoria, Illinois, are the MH3022 and MH3024, offering these features:

2. Komptech Hurrifex separator. Komptech, headquartered in Austria, has introduced the Komptech Hurrifex, offering these features:

  • combines the functions of the Stonefex stone separator with the Hurrikan wind sifter in a single machine
  • removes stones and light items from material streams with a separation rate of up to 95 percent
  • designed to save space, energy costs and transport
  • allows for cleanup of screen overflow from compost, which can be used as a biomass fuel
  • waste wood and mixed construction scrap processing
  • throughput of up to 78.4 cubic yards (60 cubic meters) per hour

3. Metso EtaPreShred mobile preshredder. New from Finland-based Metso Recycling is the EtaPreShred 4000 Mobile, offering these features:

  • built to process various materials in any location
  • mobile unit is available in a crawler version
  • designed for ease in loading, operation and service
  • aggressive knife design and open cutting table designed for high performance and wear resistance
  • can be moved using a remote control during operation
  • new Cat C15 402-kilowatt power pack offers a longer service interval

4. Vecoplan V-Eco shredders. Vecoplan, Archdale, North Carolina, has introduced the V-Eco line of shredders, with these features:

  • variable frequency inverter drives (VFD) eliminate gear boxes and fluid couplings and match rotor speeds and torque to load volume and material tenacity
  • W-shaped rotors embedded in five rows of cutters suitable for flexible, fibrous, rigid and bulky materials
  • optimized cutting geometry delivers processing precision, particle size consistency and maximum throughput with minimized heat generation
  • externally adjustable bed knives allow fast and easy maintenance of cutting efficiency
