Wheelabrator facility's equipment will be auctioned off March 27.
The industrial asset management company Stuart B. Millner & Associates (SBMA), St. Louis, will be auctioning off Wheelabrator’s waste-to-energy facility in Claremont, New Hampshire, on March 27. The plant has been out of service since 2013 after 27 years of operation. The auction will include everything in, on and around the plant.
The facility, more than 30,000 square feet, is sited on slightly more than 9 acres of land, and is capable of burning more than 200 tons of waste per day.
The highlights of the auction will include the following assets:
- turbyne 5 megawatt waste-to-energy turbine (serial no. 37276);
- three Tower Tech TTX Series modular cooling towers;
- 2003 Cat IT28G front-loader and 2000 Cat 928-IT28G front-loader;
- McGraw-Edison 5000 KVA transformer;
- 2002 Center Flow surface condenser (serial no. 2940-7);
- 2001 Feightliner FL112 rollof container;
- numerous backup electric motors and a large selection of spare parts;
- tanks of various sizes;
- volt Roll Inc. boilers that are capable of producing 23,000 pounds of steam per hour;
- various air compressors (Quincy and Atlas);
- turbine vacuum pump;
- a variety of hoists;
- a main plant building that includes concrete foundations and a tipping floor with corrugated steel siding and cross-framed I-beams 14.5 inches wide x 12.5 inches inside the beam; plant building dimensions are about 184 feet x 154 feet and 63 feet height at its peak;
- an ash building that is about 52 feet x 52 feet of corrugated steel; and
- workshop building, which is about 50 feet x 20 feet.
Interested parties can participate in the auction either by showing up at the Claremont site to bid in person or register and take part in the auction event online.
