The company says it constructed Vecoplan AG Technologiezentrum to give its customers one central location where they could see the full complement of equipment the company has to offer.

Vecoplan says the development center is able to cover the company’s entire value chain of complex processes in-house, which accelerates the development time and allows for efficient test times.

The company says it took more than eight months to rebuild and expand its existing technical center to create the world’s largest and most advanced development center in the field of environmental technology.

“Vecoplan has made significant progress in terms of process engineering. Material classification, additional sorting methods and new washing technology raises the bar in the market,” says Werner Berens, CEO of Vecoplan AG.

As part of the grand opening, the company highlighted its Vecoplan HydroDyn washing method, which allows for the processing of heavily soiled plastics, helping customers set new standards, Vecoplan explained. The washing method offers the high-grade cleaning of plastics materials such as film with labels, agricultural film and stretch film, as well as hard plastics, the company says.

At the technology and development center’s grand opening, Eveline Lemke, Germany’s Minister of Economic Affairs for the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, said, “With its new Technologiezentrum, the company proves that it is one of the most innovative companies in this industry. Based on the tests in the Technologiezentrum Vecoplan develops individual machinery for their clients. Consequently, every company receives a customized plant in accordance with its requirements.”

Also at the grand opening ceremony, Stefan Kaiser, head of Vecoplan’s recycling business unit, said, “The goal-oriented and reliable customization of today’s machinery and equipment is essential. The basis for design are always tests with the corresponding material, as this is the only way to develop a processing strategy.”

Kaiser added, “On this basis, we plan installations all over the world and successfully realize them together with our customers. Even during the opening ceremony, customers have taken the opportunity and made appointments. The appropriate equipment of our new technology center allows us to efficiently and reliably handle complex tasks and even material that is difficult to process.”

Lemke noted, “The political courage to decide for sustainability, environmental protection and care for future generations – Vecoplan corresponds to these thoughts and goals with economic and efficient solutions. In the future, the Ministry of Economy is going to support companies like Vecoplan even more by the establishment of a Green Technology Network in spring of 2015.”

The Green Technology Network will link green technology companies in the Rhineland-Palatinate area with regional, national and international economic and scientific players, as Lemke said, “Thus, to encourage innovations and align the industry internationally. Rhineland-Palatinate shall be the leading location for Green Technology.”
